About CowrieCards membership


Become a member and you get unlimited access to all greeting cards and invitations on our site.

Membership includes the following exclusive benefits:

  • Unlimited access to eCards and enVites designed especially for African-Americans and Black people
  • Address Book - Store all your friends' e-mail addresses, so sending eCard will be quick and easy.
  • Calendar - Plan ahead by accessing your Calendar, where you can add birthdays, and other special days and appointments.
  • Reminders - Store all your important dates so birthdays, anniversaries and other special events will never be forgotten, through our Reminder Notification e-mails. You can also use text messaging to alert the recipients of your eCards and enVites.
  • Card History - View all cards sent in the past 30 days, with option to cancel cards that have not been delivered yet.
  • My Account - Edit your membership information including e-mail address, password, and 2 free accounts.
  • Send your own image - Back from vacation, got new photos in your digital camera? Send them as eCards, to your friends and family.
I joined, but I can't sign in.


Make certain that when you join that you retrieve the follow-up email from CowrieCards. This contains your  user name and password that you used when you joined.

If you can't find your follow-up email with your order number, please contact customer support.

How much does a CowrieCard membership cost?


A CowrieCards membership is currently FREE for unlimited usage of eCards and enVites. However, you can buy single and box set greeting cards of a select eCards to send to family and friends, to old fashion way - snail mail. Just click on the link on the homepage.

Is the CowrieCards site safe to use?


We suggest that you take precautions in your use of the internet in general and emails in particular. Please read our document about Email Protection From Phishing & Spam.

How to use Member Features

My Account

Control your account information. Edit your membership including e-mail address, password, mailing address, etc.

Follow the instructions below to edit My Account:

  1. If you are not already signed in, Sign-in using your user ID and password. (Make certain that you received and retained the email with your Order Number, this required in order to properly register and sign-in)
  2. Click on the"My Account" link in the Members toolbar at the bottom of the page.
  3. Edit your membershipinformation.
  4. If you need to change your password: Click the link "Click here to change password".
  5. If you want to delete your account (why on earth would you want to do that?): Click the link "Click here to delete your account".
  6. Enter the updated information and click"SUBMIT."

Address Book

Members can store friends and family information in their own Address Book. Please follow the instructions below to access this feature.

1. If you are not already signed in, Sign in using your user ID and password.
2. At the bottom of the screen click "Address Book" on the toolbar.

 

To ADD a contact:

1. Click the link "Add New Contact" .
2. Enter the name and contact information 
3. Click "SUBMIT" to store the information in your Address Book.

 

To EDIT a contact:

1. Click edit icon or click on the email link.
2. You will see the full contact information for that person displayed.
3. Click "SUBMIT" to save your changes.

 

To DELETE a contact:

1. Check the checkbox to the left of the contact you want to delete.
2. Click the link "Delete Selected" . You can delete 2 or more contact name at once.
3. You can click icon to delete contact one by one

 

To send a eCard using your Address Book:

1. Choose a card you would like to send
2. At step "Personalize your card" you will see the address book box in your left side.
3. Click contact name to insert that contact to Recipient name and email fields

Calendar

All your stored Reminders, special events and holidays can be viewed on your Calendar. Plan your schedule and send eCard by clicking on the Reminder or Holiday, which will link you to the applicable eCard category page.

Please follow the instructions below to access the Calendar:

1. If you are not already signed in, Sign in using your user ID and password
2. Click on the "Calendar" link in the Members toolbar at the bottom of page.

To ADD a new Event:

1. Choose the date on the Calendar table and click on it.
2. Enter the Event name, date, notes and click "SUBMIT".
 
To EDIT an existing Event:
 
1. Click on the "Reminders" link in the Members toolbar at the bottom of page
2. Click on icon edit right of the event you would like to change.
3. Edit the information and click "SUBMIT".

To DELETE an existing Event:

1. Click on the "Reminders" link in the Members toolbar at the bottom of page
2. Check the checkbox to the left of the Reminder you want to delete.
3. Click "Delete Selected". You can delete 2 or more Reminder name at once.
4. You can click icon to delete item one by one

Create your eCard album

Back from vacation, got new photos in your digital camera? Wouldn't you like to send them as eCards, to your friends, and family?

1. If you are not already signed in, Sign in using your user ID and password.
2. Click on the "Create Your Own" link at the top of page
3. Follow the instruction to create your own album eCard

Email Reminder

Our Reminder Notification service is a convenient way to remember all the important dates of your busy life!

Please follow the instructions below to access this feature:

1. If you are not already signed in, Sign in using your user ID and password.
2. Click on the "Reminders" icon at the bottom of page.

To ADD a new reminder:

1. Click "Add New Reminder" link.
2. Enter the appropriate information and click "SUBMIT".

To EDIT an existing reminder:

1. Click on the "Reminders" link at the bottom of page
2. Click on "Edit" link (next to your Reminder Note) of the event you would like to change.
3. Edit the information and click "SUBMIT".

To DELETE an existing reminder:

1. Check the checkbox to the left of the Reminder you want to delete.
2. Click "Delete Selected" button. You can delete 2 or more Reminder name at once.

 

Card History

Our members can view all cards sent in the past 30 days. Members also have the option to view or cancel cards that are scheduled to be delivered at a future date (i.e. hasn't been sent yet).

Please follow the instructions below to access Card History:

1. If you are not already signed in, Sign in using user ID and password
2. Click on the "History" link in the Members toolbar at the bottom of page.

To VIEW a card: Click on "View" next to the card (or the thumbnail picture) you wish to view.

To CANCEL delivery of a card that is scheduled to be sent:

1. Click on the "History" link in the Members toolbar at the bottom of page
2. Click the "Cancel" link next the card that you do not want delivered.

Requirements to view eCard


Some of our eCard using Flash - You must install Macromedia Flash Player 6.0 or in order to view them correctly.

How to send an eCard


Start by visiting our website at
CowrieCards and sign-in. Click on either the eCards link at the top of the page. Select a category from which to send a card. Several cards are appropriate across categories, so browse through to select a card that fits your sentiments. (by the way, if you don't find the right card for you, contact us and we'll try to create one in our next batch)

Step 1: Preview the card you choose.

If this is not what you want then click button "More Cards" to go back and choose a different card. If this is the card you would like to send to your friend, click on "PERSONALIZE & SEND" button.

If you choose to change the stamps that appear in the upper right corner of the card, click on the link "Click here for more options". (these stamps are a series of images that are from the USPS Black History stamp collection or black memorabilia)

Step 2: Personalize Your eCard

Fill in all the required information, including the recipient's name and e-mail address, and a personalized message. Then click on either the "Preview eCard" button to preview the card and make any necessary changes, or simply click the "Send Now" button to send the card

How to send an enVite


Start by visiting our website at
CowrieCards and sign-in. Click on either the enVites link at the top of the page. Select view envites and a category from which to send an invitation or announcement.

Step 1: Personalize your enVite

Scroll down and fill in all the required information, including the recipient's name and e-mail address. Use the text box to personalize your message. You can adjust the fonts by clicking the "Open Font Format Window" button. Then click "apply changes" to see how the invitation looks prior to sending. Keep in mind that an apostrophe will appear as a / in your preview, however, it will correctly in the enVite.

Preview your enVite for changes or simply click the "Send Now" button.

Click on the enVites menu "Main Page" link to track the responses to the invitation or announcement.

Step 2: enVite options

You can use the following  options to customize your enVite

  • Check if this is an Announcement Card
  • Would you like to show Map to guest?
  • Would you like to send Email Reminder to guest?
How to pickup an eCard or enVite


You will receive an e-mail stating that someone has sent you a CowrieCard. In the e-mail message, there should be a web page link (URL) which you can click on to automatically receive your eCard. Or you can copy and enter the Card Number provided with the email at our card pick-up page.

How to add multiple contacts to your address book
