Bio
As a sales and marketing professional, since
1979, Henry worked principally in the media and entertainment industries. While
with SFX Entertainment, a division of Clear Channel Communications, and the largest
live entertainment company in the country, he had considerable bottom-line
responsibilities with the SFX Radio
Network from 1998 into 2001.
He accounted for over 40% and 15% of 2000
and 1999 national radio billings, respectively, from major New
York account and agency assignments. His efforts
included selling sponsorships for concert and world premiere syndicated music
programming, as well as, live concert, tour packages and webcasting via the SFX Media Marketing initiative. From
1995-98, Henry was responsible for building new business within the Eastern
region, among national advertisers, and their agencies for SJS Entertainment, a radio
network, syndicator and program provider. [SFX

Further, prior to his work with SJS Entertainment, Henry operated two
companies, including The RightRoc Group, and The BlackROCK Group, Ltd., where
he consulted small businesses within the following sectors: publishing, radio
broadcasting, apparel, and sales training. He has written numerous business,
sales and marketing, and acquisition plans. While his focus has been marketing
and media sales, with an emphasis on addressing the urban consumer market, he
also advised companies about operations, financing and strategic planning.
During the 1970’s Henry worked in the television
industry starting in the proverbial “mailroom” at WABC-TV, Channel 7 in New
York City, from there he went to WNET-TV, Channel 13, as a production assistant
on the ground-breaking and Emmy Award winning news magazine program, “The 51st
State”. From there he worked at New Jersey Public Broadcasting (NJN) – Channel
52 in Trenton, NJ for the program “Express Yourself” in
addition to station news and documentaries, as a sound recordist and
transferring technician, and assistant cameraman. Later in the decade, Henry
worked with National Broadcasting Corp., WNBC-TV as a projectionist and video
technician, and was a member of NABET.
Following his work in television, Henry started his
tenure in media sales, working in the print, outdoor and national radio
industries. This included sales and management positions with Black Media Inc.,
Triangle Outdoor, Johnson Publishing, National Black Network, The National
Leader and Interep.
Henry
started a real estate career in Hudson County, NJ, in 2002, with Liberty Realty, a residential boutique
brokerage with offices in Hoboken and Jersey City. After
working in all phases of residential sales and leasing, he switched to
commercial sales, with Coldwell Banker Commercial – Feist & Feist Realty,
and Marcus & Millichap, where his emphasis was investment properties,
specifically multi-family buildings.
Henry has attended NYU’s School of Continuing & Professional Studies
– Real Estate Institute. He attended Rutgers
University, as an Economics major, and
marketing major at The Keller School of Business Management, Chicago, Il.
He
has been a member of The National
Business Education Association (NBEA), and President/CTM(Competent Toastmaster) - Knickerbocker
Toastmasters, NYC, NY; an Executive Committee member of Concerned Black Men,
NY, NY; member of Toastmasters of Essex County, NJ; member City of Orange
Planning Board, Orange, NJ; Director of the Newark, NJ Hands Across America
project; Founder/member of the Board of Directors - Forum for the Evolution of
Progressive Arts (FEPA), Chicago, IL; member of the Board of Directors - The
Jazz Institute of Chicago, Chicago, IL; member of the Newark Jaycees. He has
also authored numerous published articles about jazz.
